The awards were given by the chief editor of Republika, Nasihin Masha, who said the award is meant for young people because the future of Indonesia will depend on them."These are the people who's been consistent and being able to have a vision of future Indonesia," said Masha Nasihin on a speech.
Here are five people who received the awards:
- Iko Uwais, martial art master and an actor who' considered to have brought the traditional sport to international stage.
- Abraham Samad, Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
- Indra Sjafri, the coach of the national football team U-19 who brought his team to be a champion in AFF Cup 2013.
- Ridwan Hasan Saputra, a science teacher known with his method called 'keropak' or pay the way you like, whose students became an Olympic champion.
- Gamal Albinsaid, pioneering young doctor by building a junk insurance clinic.
"So many of our people are suffering these days, while many government officials accumulate wealth (by stealing people's money). Tonight, I would like to invite all Indonesians to fight corruption, greed, and avarice. Let's clean Indonesia," he said.
