Two Candidates to Accompany Jokowi, But Their Names aren't Disclosed

Presidential candidate of Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Joko Widodo, said the process of selecting candidates for the party's vice-president has been pursed. Now, only two remains.

However Jokowi, a nickname given to Joko Widodo by the public, would not disclose who the two candidates are.

"They were confirmed yesterday, there are two of them," said Jokowi at Jakarta City Hall, Friday, April 25.

Jokowi admitted that he had felt comfortable with the two candidates, but he will have to choose one accompany him in the 2014 presidential election.

"Anyway, it's still a secret. One is older and one is younger than I am."

The former mayor of Solo added that he will contemplate about who will be the one, since the pair will determine the fate of the nation.

"Everything is being calculated as it will affect the lives of 240 million people in Indonesia. It is for the best interest of the nation and the state. For we are from the people, they are the source of the real power."

Although his party chose the two candidates for him, in the end it's up to Jokowi to decide.
